Classic TV Theme: Dallas (Jerrold Immel) Corrected!

Описание к видео Classic TV Theme: Dallas (Jerrold Immel) Corrected!

As tv soap operas go, they don't come any bigger than 'Dallas' (1978). What started as a five-part miniseries ran for 13 more seasons as a weekly continuing drama. Producer Leonard Katzman was around for most all of it, and came up with spectacular cliffhangers that generated tremendous word-of-mouth. 'Who Shot JR?' was probably the biggest cliffhanger to hit American television; Bobby in the shower wasn't too shabby either. The show's cast included stars of the past and present, and created a few new ones along the way. The powerful theme, by Jerrold Immel, is one of tv's best and has appeared on numerous lists of 'greatest tv themes'. We have a sampling of 'Dallas' themes through the years:
0:00 Opening titles, season one. The original miniseries is now counted as the first season.
1:11 End credits, season one.
1:54 Opening titles, season four.
3:07 Opening titles, season nine. This is the 'dream' season. Patrick Duffy does not appear in the title sequence.
4:23 Opening titles, season 14. The final season; the theme music is heard in stereo, a practice that began in season 12.
5:51 End credits and logo, season 14.
6:43 BONUS: Opening titles, season three, from the 2012 revival series that aired on TNT. This show picked up the storyline 20 years after the end of season 14. The death of Larry Hagman caused his JR Ewing character to be killed off. Interest in the show declined and it ended after three seasons.
Corrected: Alert YouTubers @tmanokc and @30nash30 noticed I used the wrong video in the 'season one' slot. Got it right this time.
