Cancer Biomarkers in the Era of Personalised Medicines

Описание к видео Cancer Biomarkers in the Era of Personalised Medicines

Cancer biomarkers are molecules that are usually produced by cancer cells which can be detected in bodily fluids or tissues. They can help identify people who have cancer or who are at risk of getting cancer. In fact, biomarker testing helps to identify the “Achilles' heel” of different types of cancer, ensuring that the right person receives the right treatment at the right time. Watch the animation to learn more about biomarkers and why the European Cancer Patient Coalition is calling for more progress to be made to make personalised healthcare more of a reality for cancer patients in Europe.

This video was presented at the European Cancer Patient Coalition event “Cancer Biomarkers in the Era of Personalised Medicines” which took place on December 6, 2017 in the European Parliament together with MEP Marlene Mizzi.
