Lotus FM Bunny Chow Competition 2023

In South Africa, the traditional Indian bunny chow needs no introduction, although, the origin of the bunny chow is a tale to tell. The bunny chow has now become a dish that is enjoyed tremendously amongst all ethnic groups.

Most South Africans are always searching for the best bunny chow to satisfy their ultimate cravings. With this in mind, and Lotus FM being the only national Indian radio station in South Africa, our goal for this campaign was to preserve Indian Heritage and lifestyle, but also to share this experience with people in South Africa and around the world.

The purpose of this exciting competition honours the heritage of South African Indians and a meal that encapsulates the history of Indians.

The winner for 2023 was Tongaat's Sandra Govender and her Prawn Curry Bunny Chow.

The judges for 2023 were Lotus FM's O' Neil Nair, Chef Rev Bothoi and Food Blogger, Yolande Pillay.
