DIY HOW TO Make Distilled Water at Home (Cheap, Quick & Easy)

Brian explains how to make distilled water at home with only 4 common household items. In less than a minute, learn how to make a homemade water distiller right in your kitchen!

You will need:
1️⃣ A pot
2️⃣ A glass lid larger than the pot
3️⃣ A bowl
4️⃣ Ice cubes

BEFORE heating the water
Step 1: Place the bowl in the pot.
Step 2: Fill the pot with enough water that the bowl floats.
Step 3: Remove the bowl and begin heating the water.

AFTER the water is boiling:
Step 4: Place the bowl inside
Step 5: Place the glass lid on top, upside down
Step 6: Add ice cubes on top of the glass lid (while it's still cool!)

As the water evaporates and becomes steam, it will collect on the underside of the lid and handle.

The ice cubes cause the vapor to condense more quickly.

Now we wait.

Once most of the water has evaporated, we’re ready to collect our distilled water.

Either wait until everything has sufficiently cooled, or use a towel or baking glove to remove the lid and bowl.
