Donald Trump slams criminal trial as a "scam"

The 12 members of the jury for Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York have been seated, after an earlier setback in which two jurors already sworn in were dismissed.

Questions were raised about whether one of the dismissed jurors had lied on a court questionnaire and the other was removed for fear that she could not be impartial.

Trump, 77, is charged with falsifying business records to conceal a payment to the porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. Efforts to seat a jury began on Monday, with seven jurors selected by Tuesday evening.
