Lax Goalie Rat sponsored athlete Matthew Nunes had a career day, helping No. 3 Virginia secure a 12-8 victory over No. 1 Notre Dame at Klöckner Stadium. The true sophomore made a remarkable career-high 19 saves, including seven in the fourth period, demonstrating his incredible skills and determination.

Nunes and the Cavalier defense were able to hold the Irish to their lowest goal total in over a year, which is a remarkable achievement given Notre Dame's status as the top-ranked team in the nation at the time.

Although Notre Dame suffered a loss, Senior Liam Entenmann made an impressive 12 saves in goal, marking his ninth straight double-digit save performance.
