After a brief post-trial break, we're back! In this live stream, we're catching up to everyone else by talking about the verdict in the Depp v. Heard trial--what happened, what it means, and what it tells us about the jury--AND some of the media's response to the verdict. This includes, of course, Elaine Bredehoft's immediate (and short-lived) press tour, Twitter takes, and myself getting Taylor Lorenz in trouble at the Washington Post.

-SCs that begin with 'Q:' or 'Question' will be reserved. We'll do our best to address each one of these individually, but we get a lot of Qs asking the same thing. When we do answer a SC on a specific topic, we'll go through the list of reserved chats and display each chat that poses the same Q on the screen. If the topic of a question comes up organically in discussion, we'll do the same as outlined here.
-For SCs addressed specifically to a panel member, we'll make every effort to get it in front of them while they're with us, but that may not always be possible. If it's a statement it may be shown when they're here, if it's a Q we'll try our best to have them answer it.

For some background: This is a defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for defamation stemming from her OpEd published in The Washington Post in 2018. Amber Heard is counter suing for defamation claims based on statements made by Johnny Depp's former lawyer. The trial is taking place in Fairfax, Virginia, the proper venue as The Washington Post is headquartered in said location. Presiding is Judge Penny Azcarate, Johnny Depp is represented by Ben Chew, Camille Vasquez, and more. Amber Heard is represented by Elaine Bredehoft, Ben Rottenborn, and more.
