Описание к видео Hydrostatic Testing - What's the difference between a functional/proof/burst/fatigue test?

In this video we will show you how hydrostatic testing works, and explain the difference between a functional, proof, burst and fatigue test.

Designers need to create a specification, development engineers have to decide what testing is needed for product validation, and production engineers need to achieve product conformity. Why is this testing so important? Solid modelling will allow designers to optimise products for lowest sections, mass and cost. Hydrostatic pressure testing provides the confidence that the actual part will perform in the real world.

Any pressurised vessel, reservoir, hose or hydraulic system component - like a valve or accumulator - has to be designed, manufactured and one day repaired to work at a pressure.

We also think that eco-friendly reformulation of polymers will only accelerate in coming years, and designers and production engineers will need to know how these replacement materials perform, and whether they are interchangeable.

Watch the video to see in more detail what kind of pressures we’re talking about here, and how the tests work.
