One of the most confusing things in Excel is knowing when to put the dollar sign for cell referencing (applied with the F4 key). Is it before the cell column letter? before the cell row number? or both? This took me months to learn correctly, but by the end of this video you'll be super crystal on how to go both absolute and relative referencing in excel.. And for this we'll go through five examples from easy to hard! First we'll go through examples where we fix both the row and column, and eventually we'll transition to some where we only fix the row or the column depending on the scenario. Finally, we'll combine the $ sign cell referencing in Excel with other formulas like an IF statement or an INDEX MATCH.
