In this episode featuring the modifications on this 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, we run through the gears and axle upgrades, tune the computer and recalibrate the speedometer, and remove the front fenders so the Jeep wont complete destroy itself on it's first trip out to the dirt.

After installing the new 37" BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2 tires on the JKU, I decided to get it directly to my most trusted and awesome Jeep mechanic... Ron at Blackstone Jeep Shop in Santa Clarita California for a set of 4.88 gears and chromoly axle shafts from G2. I have been going to Ron for years now and feel so lucky to have found a shop that is as honest and does such good work. If you live in the Los Angeles area and need Jeep work... call this dude 661 388 9773.

Soon as I got the Jeep home from the shop, it was time to do the PCM calibration with the Diablosport InTune module. Entering in the gear change and tire size was very easy with this tuner and I have been running the preset 87 Octane Tune for a few weeks now and like the increase in throttle response and overall performance gains on the vehicle. I do however have a problem with the fact that Jeep does not let the driver disable the ESC (electronic stability control) in 2WD and was hoping the tuner would help with that... IT DOES NOT. The only way to accomplish a defeat of the ECS is to disable all of the PCM systems including the ABS and hill assist which I don't want to lose. I then tried to reach out to Diablosport with questions about this and their customer support is pretty bad... three unanswered emails, waiting for a very long time on the phone for a tech and being told "I don't know, maybe you should look on line and buy a custom tune" is not acceptable for the price point. I do not recommend this tuner. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Then it was time to get ready for some off roading. I decided to pull the front fenders off so the Jeep wouldn't just rip itself to pieces on the trail. A you tuber recommended the Metalcloak Overline fenders in the last video comments and I really liked what I saw on their website so I ordered a set for the Jeep. Look for that install in a future video. After removing a few clips and a few bolts the fenders "pop" right off. I trimmed a support bracket and painted the cut.

The Jeep is as ready for it's maiden voyage off road and that will happen in the very next video so subscribe now!

Thanks for watching!
Jason
