Описание к видео ASM Hydrasynth | Deluxe Sound Bank Vol. 1 Demo (patches 1-16) | Synth Universe

In this video I play original dual layer sounds created for the Hydrasynth Deluxe. I demo patches 1 - 16 from the Synth Universe Hydrasynth Deluxe Sound Bank Vol. 1: a bank of 32 Multi patches containing vintage and analog inspired pads, polysynths, strings, brass and keys, as well as ambient bells, sines and soundscapes.

Sound bank description

Each Synth Universe Hydrasynth Deluxe sound bank contains 32 dual layer patches. As each layer contains a unique sound, that's 64 sounds in total for each bank.

These Deluxe Sound Banks concentrate on powerful, usable and musical sounds that can become staple companions in your music-making. Many of the patches are inspired by sounds from classic or vintage synths. Although the Hydrasynth is completely digital, it has the ability to create a wide range of timbres, including those of analog synths. With two sound layers in each patch, the real power comes from getting multiple oscillators working together in unpredictable ways, using the oscillator mutants, filters and modulations. Some of these vintage-inspired patches have little or no added reverb or delay: to my ears they sound good on their own.

Some patches have the letters 'Dlx' in the name, which means it's a dual layer version of an existing single patch in the Synth Universe Hydrasynth sound banks. Working with a Hydrasynth Deluxe is like having a Yamaha DX1 instead of a DX7: you can get more richness and depth in a basic sound by doubling it and making adjustments to each layer. These types of patches are usually straightforward usable sounds, made to sound bigger, richer and more spacious in the stereo field than their single counterparts.

All of the sounds featured in earlier Synth Universe videos on the Hydrasynth Deluxe are included in these two banks, as well as many new patches created from scratch to harness the power of having 6 oscillators available simultaneously. There are a number of ambient and ethereal patches as well as soundscapes included that make use of layered sounds with lots of movement.

In these demos I've tried to use musical examples and sometimes I've stretched out a bit, either improvising or developing a theme a so you can hear the sounds in context.

No external FX or processing was applied in producing these video demos – you are hearing the sounds as they were played from the synth, using only internal Hydrasynth effects. However, be sure to listen to these demos through good quality speakers or headphones and you will hear the depth in the sounds. The Hydrasynth has a very wide audio frequency range and small phone or laptop speakers do not reproduce the full sound well!

There was no affiliation to ASM or their products in the creation of this video.

All musical ideas in this video are my own and are copyright to me.

I really hope these sounds inspire you to make more beautiful music!
