According to sources from the palace, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is reportedly going through a serious health ordeal, suffering from both an eating disorder and recovering from surgery for ovarian cancer. The popular royal, who is usually admired for her elegance and composure, has been noticeably missing from the public view, raising worries and rumors about her well-being.
The Duchess's health issues came to light after she quietly checked into the London Clinic in January, initially for treatment related to her eating disorder, which had caused her to lose a lot of weight, dropping to only 109 pounds. The situation worsened when regular medical tests detected ovarian cancer, requiring immediate surgery on January 16. The combined diagnosis of an eating disorder and cancer has drawn attention to the complex connection between mental and physical health, with experts pointing out the possible link between the acid reflux caused by frequent vomiting and the development of cancer.
Dr. Stuart Fischer, an internist based in New York, explained the medical perspective to The National ENQUIRER, saying, "Acid leakage to the esophagus can lead to damage to the upper gastrointestinal tract and cause the rapid regeneration of tissue, which is how many cancers begin." This discovery highlights the compounded health difficulties faced by the Duchess, further complicated by the royal family's historical reluctance to publicly address mental health issues.
