Prince Charles' Anger at Press Caught in Awkward 'Hot Mic' Gaffe with William and Harry (2005)

On 30 March 2005, Prince Charles was overheard making angry comments about the BBC's royal correspondent, Nicholas Witchell. The Prince of Wales made the comments during a press conference with his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, at Klosters Ski Resort in Switzerland, just eight days before Charles' wedding to Camilla Parker-Bowles. The Prince of Wales took offence at Witchell's decision to ask Harry and William how they felt about the wedding, and his muttered disapproval was picked up by ITN's microphone. Charles was not the only one to express frustration during the interview. Prince William showed little interest in answering questions about his relationship with Kate Middleton, while Prince Harry was at one point heard sarcastically stating: "This is so much fun!"
