1984:
18. February 14, 1984. Martin Short: "SCTV."
19. February 23, 1984. John Candy: "Splash."
20. March 26, 1984. Andrea Martin: "SCTV."
21. August 14, 1984. Martin Short: "SNL."
Ken Stricker was selected from the stand-by audience to co-host the show.
22. October 11, 1984. John Candy: HBO: "The Last Polka"; working on "Volunteers."
The broadcast edit is pretty messed up going into the breaks. Who knows what was cut up.
23. December 3, 1984. Martin Short: "SNL." "SCTV" soon into syndication.
This was during a short experimental period when the guest chairs were on Dave's left.

1985:
24. February 26, 1985. John Candy and Eugene Levy as The Schmenge Brothers: "The Last Polka" and song: "Cabbage Rolls & Coffee."
25. March 21, 1985. First, a Liberace walk-on, then Andrea Martin: filming "Club Paradise."
26. July 10, 1985 (taped June 5). Martin Short: finished season on "SNL." Back from vacation visiting friends filming "Club Paradise."
Paul begins playing Martin on with Julian Lennon's "Valotte," and then later alternating it with Julian's "Too Late for Goodbyes." In Martin's November 12, 1987, appearance (in Part 4), Dave asks why. Martin explains that Paul thinks he looks like Julian.
27. August 1, 1985. John Candy: filmed "Summer Rental" April/May. Finished filming "Volunteers end of last year.
28. November 13, 1985. Martin Short: "Martin Short Concert for the North Americas" on Showtime; filming "Three Amigos" in January 1986.
29. November 30, 1985. Film Festival. Andrea Martin and Catherine O'Hara: "PMS." Andrea: "Club Paradise"; Catherine: "After Hours" and "Heartburn."
