(ANIMATIC) Garreth Bly's Journal - A DnD Short Story - 6

For those of you looking for a little bit more of an explanation: Garreth was possessed by a demon at some point in his life and lived for 7 years with him not being in control of himself. He was freed from the demon's grasp, but left with scars from the event, both physical and mental. He's used to people being afraid of him because of his dark eyes and sharp teeth. He promises he's human, but he's been hunted one too many times for him to trust that anyone he knows will trust him once they see his real face. Hence, he wears a mask all the time.

Stuff happened in one of our previous sessions where Garreth got so spooked. They saw dead people propped up in windows with terrible runes carved onto their backs. He ran into the mountains and threw his mask off because he was having a panic attack, it triggering his past trauma when the demon was exorcised from his body (the part where his back was carved with a sun. Exorcisms are extremely painful in this world).

This was the first time he showed his face to some of the party members... and he was so sure they were going to hate him after seeing the marks of demon possession on his face.
