‘Absolute rubbish’: Jason Clare slammed over comments about anti-Israel slogan

Sky News host Chris Kenny has slammed Education Minister Jason Clare for acting as if he did not know the meaning of “from the river to the sea”.

Mr Clare said in a media conference he had heard the slogan meant different things, but said all that matters is for Australians to call for a two-state solution.

“Really? Don’t excuse this stuff – ‘From the river to the sea’ doesn't mean from the river to the sea?”, Mr Kenny said.

“It somehow means there's an Israel there as well?

“What absolute rubbish.

“And how can Clare claim to support a two-state solution, when Hamas, as clearly identified by that slogan, will not tolerate a two-state solution – Hamas is interested only in one state, a new state, and one that annihilates Israel.”
