Описание к видео Countdown Karnataka: Political landscape of North Karnataka ahead of May 7 polls

In Karnataka, the remaining 14 constituencies will go to polls on May 7, for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Most of them are districts in north and central Karnataka.

The campaign in these parts has been heated, with State and Central leaders visiting. The Prajwal Revanna sex scandal which is being investigated, has added to the intensity of this campaign. In 2019, the BJP swept these 19 seats and the Congress was nowhere in the picture. It was a bad defeat back then for Mallikarjun Kharge, now the Congress chief.

The Congress bounced back in the Assembly elections last year and their campaign now has been robust. To get a better understanding of the electoral scene in north Karnataka, The Hindu’s Karnataka bureau chief S. Bageshree is joined by The Hindu’s correspondents Girish Pattanashetti from Hubbali, Kumar Buradikatti from Kalaburagi and Rishikesh Bahadurdesai from Belagavi. #loksabhaelection2024 #karnataka #karnatakaelection
