Your s chassis car culture was one of several s chassis community options when we were your age. You could own an S13 and NOT aspire to be the next Iketani (pick better heroes). You could just enjoy driving the thing.
Today, nearly every single S13 is in the hands of someone who either thinks they're going to be the next DK or already tried and gave up. Real ones like the guy in the thumbnail, fake ones like almost every mall grabber pile we look at in this video. To some extent, almost every single one has gone under the sideways knife.
Automatics are the only saving grace of the S chassis world, but they're a very easy swap away from hitting a jersey barrier. There isn't much time left. If you want to preserve an s chassis, the time to act is yesterday, but the second best time is right now. The S Chassis Society will never heal itself.
