Growth of new plants has been slow so far, and that is normal for March. Looking forward, even in April it can be slow. If the weather stays cool, don’t worry and keep slug habitat low.

Seedlings need time to grow roots before they can make many leaves. Hence the difference between slow growth of new plantings, compared to rapid growth of overwintered cabbage, broccoli, garlic and onions. Their root systems are already extensive.
Likewise the perennial rhubarb and asparagus. Especially rhubarb, well suited to this damp climate.
