The Journey - The Casting - (Basement Level Floor & Ground Floor Footers) - Ep. 42 - Part 2

Casting of the basement floor level and the building footers for the ground floor have been completed; this was a huge milestone. No more 4000 PSI concrete until the construction of some retaining walls and the septic tank, much later. The floors are with 3500 PSI concrete and for the remainder of the building going up. Controlling cost has been a huge part of this project and I’m happy to say, some of the local businesses have been willing to work with me if I bought in large volumes. Depending on the business, this incentive is there for anyone, you just have to ask and was surprisingly it just took a 2 mins phone call with the owner.

The real block work can now begin taking the shape of the rooms and the functionality of the building or each unit. This is the construction crew in action working the concrete and making sure the floor is as level during this process. As my uncle has previous said to me, “I haven’t started until the basement level floor has been casted”. 😊 I’m not sure what he means by this but I guess all the stages up until this point, means nothing to him. He funny right? 😊
