Maxton Byrd and Sandy Hatley organized an entertaining evening of competition amongst bluegrass musicians young and old. Franklinville Express was the first place band. Over 30 adult acts went on stage for their turn in front of 3 highly experienced judges. The highlight for many were some of the outstanding youth players on banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bass and vocals. There was plenty of fun before and after with off stage jam sessions, hot dogs and snacks. I was lucky to snag a pie during the auction.
