Desoldering DIP/Through-Hole ICs With Inexpensive Tools

In this video, I demonstrate my technique for safely desoldering and removing DIP/through-hole ICs using inexpensive tools: a beginner's soldering iron, an inexpensive manual solder pump, and a heat gun. Adrian Black's excellent video on a similar subject motivated me to see if this could reasonably be accomplished without a proper desoldering gun and hot-air station.

Note that I had some problems with lighting during filming and some shots went out of focus; some footage was completely unusable. I kept some footage that was out of focus as the following scene typically became in-focus and clear, showing the result of the work that was not perfectly visible. I'm still working on improving my lighting and filming tools and I appreciate your patience and understanding.
