Examining Titanfall 2's Heartbreaking Finale

All good things must unfortunately come to an end and with its final mission The Fold Weapon, Titanfall 2 does it in style.

Describing it as heartbreaking may seem a little overdramatic but I’d say it most certainly is, given not only what happens to Jack Cooper and BT-7274 during the mission itself and its ending but also due to the fact that it may be the last level we ever play as part of a game in Respawn Entertainment’s fantastic Titanfall series.

In this video, I take analyse everything from The Fold Weapon’s level design and gameplay to its story and setting, to try and explain why it's such a brilliant mission, while also drawing comparisons to Blood and Rust, Effect And Cause, The Beacon and other levels in Titanfall 2's campaign.
