WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
✨ LOCATION: Deciding on where to rent the kimono can be the hardest decision because there are so many kimono rental shops in Japan! I found it best to narrow down on a beautiful location where you can take lots of nice pictures and then choosing a rental shop. Some top places to rent a kimono:
- Asakusa
- Gion
- Arashiyama
- Kawagoe
- Kamakura

✨ BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL: Book an early morning time slot so you get first pick of the kimonos and you can spend as much time in the kimono without feeling rushed to return it at the end of the day.

✨ WEARING THE KIMONO: The process of putting on the kimono takes about 15 minutes and it is so fascination to see how they layer each piece. It can be quite a tight fit so just as a tip, use the toilet before you get started! 

✨HAIR & MAKEUP: Some shops will offer hair and/or makeup services usually for an additional cost.
