Chrono Trigger - 12,000 BC - Orchestral Cover Collection

Описание к видео Chrono Trigger - 12,000 BC - Orchestral Cover Collection

A series of fantasy, orchestral takes on the Dark Ages/Antiquity era from Chrono Trigger. This is my personal favorite era in the game!

I suppose I loved it due to the great constrast - one one hand, you see this beautiful kingdom with the best graphics on the SNES, you get exposed to the most brilliantly done music in the game, yet in the end you also see how it was built and crumbled due to exploitation, starting with an entire race of people and ending with exploiting the unnatural resource that is our favorite one eyed space tick, Lavos. Yep, that's me. It's a great story, is it not?

0:00 - Corridors of Time (Malcolm Robinson)
Ah, Corridors of Time. This particular cover has always been one of my favorite video game remixes - so I'm happy to have an excuse to share it!
4:08 - For Zealotry! (Emily Thompson & Rosie Samter)
I always found Zeal Palace to be such an underrated song, so I appreciate every cover of it, no matter how true-to-original or different it is! This one in particular I love because it's different yet fits the era perfectly.
8:14 - Dreams of the Virtuous (Sam Dillard)
This talented arrange combines Schala's Theme, Sealed Door, and Zeal Palace into one emotional masterpiece. Seriously, this is amazing. Sam Dillard deserves some respect!
13:47 - Black Omen (Time Rock Orchestra)
Time Rock Orchestra is a criminally underrated channel. I mean, they've remixed nearly the entire Chrono Trigger OST (plus a couple Earthbound songs) and they've done so incredibly well! This is no exception, of course.
16:51 - Ocean Palace (turnerofwheels)
I feel like a lot of Undersea Palace covers have this problem where they either go too different and lose what made the original special, or they stick too close to the original and fall flat in comparison. This perfectly walks the middle line, making it such a great cover!
20:30 - Zeal Palace (Mathew Valente)
This was to be the menu theme in the ill-fated Chrono Resurrection project. Oh man, that was like 17 years ago. But this still sounds so good.
25:12 - Enlightenment (Sam Dillard)
This one fits very well with the art I chose. I really like how this takes a "dreamy" approach to Corridors of Time with an ambient feel. It's different and I love Chrono Cinematica all the more for it.
31:49 - Schala's Theme (Micheal Hoffmann & Andrew Dunn)
One of my favorite Schala's Theme covers. This one has a really nice winter-y sound. It's hard to beat!
34:56 - Black Omen (Malcolm Robinson)
The Black Omen is my favorite final dungeon in a video game and I'd doubt anything would change that. A reprise of the Ocean Palace which somehow has even better music... Quite impressive!
37:50 - The Deep Beckons (Sam Dillard)
My favorite Undersea Palace cover. I love the buildup and swells, all the instrument choices are perfect, and the bits of Zeal Palace and Lavos' Theme make it all the more menacing. This is how we pictured the original when we entered the palace. Pure, unrelenting tension.
44:51 - Zeal Palace (Malcolm Robinson)
This is my favorite version of Zeal Palace. Perfectly translating the menace into a more orchestral form... What an incredible job Malcolm's done with his remixes!
48:59 - Schala's Theme (PPF)
This and Secret of the Forest are my favorite PPF covers. I highly recommend checking out his wonderful channel if you have a chance!
52:40 - Corridors of Time (String Player Gamer)
I really love the acoustic undertones of this piece. CoT suits acoustic very well, and the violin and choral bits suit just make it better!
56:46 - To Far Away Times (Malcolm Robinson)
Ah, To Far Away Times. What a magnificent masterpiece. This song and cover are objectively the most incredible things to have come out of Chrono Trigger. What a wonderful game!

Before we go, I must say a quick thanks to:
.The Chrono Trigger team, for creating this awesome game and soundtrack.
.The creators I've featured here. Thank you for being generous enough to let me share your wonderful work!
.You, the viewer, for watching. Knowing you enjoy this is what keeps me going.
Enjoy!
