These board game expansion scenarios and modules add crazy new rules, like having ships be a stand-in for roads, having knights be tokens that can move around instead of just being cards, more development cards, more resource types, the list goes on and on! With more mechanics comes crazier gameplay, and so you'll need more victory points to win, but does that make Catan tabletop sessions overstay their welcome? And doesn't initial placement still matter way too much, even with all these new ways to build cities and roll dice for resources?
