Iniimbestigahan na ng Armed Forces of the Philippines ang ulat sa umano’y pagdami ng Chinese nationals sa lalawigan ng Cagayan sa gitna ng tensyon sa West Philippine Sea.

Kasunod ito ng pagka-alarma ng ilang mambabatas sa sitwasyon sa lugar kung saan matatagpuan ang dalawang bagong sites para sa Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement ng Pilipinas at America.
