Low, Mid, & High Pockets

Описание к видео Low, Mid, & High Pockets

A pocket's level of "Whip" is determined by the length and the angle of its Ramp, or the profile view of the channel.

A steeper Ramp makes for a steeper path for the ball out of the channel, meaning more whip.

Younger players need less whip to learn the correct passing and shooting form. Some players use more whip as they get older/bigger/stronger. Others prefer low-whip pockets even in older age.

There is no 'correct' pocket. But there is an appropriate pocket for each style of play:
attack, 1-handed cradling - Low pocket
LSM, shooter - High pocket
2-way midfield - Mid pocket
low defender, makes long passes - Mid pocket
man-up specialist, outside shooter - High pocket

Hope this is helpful to some of y'all!
