Epic Emotional Violin & Live Looping - Lithe

Описание к видео Epic Emotional Violin & Live Looping - Lithe

This is piece #1 in a series of videos where I'll improvise, experiment and live loop cinematic pieces, where everything is being written in the moment after hitting "record", no chords or melodies written beforehand.

It’s been 5 years since the last video I posted on YouTube. Oh, how the time flies.

While these five years might have seemed quiet due to my inactivity in the online world, that could not be any further from the truth.

You see, after hitting publish on my last YouTube video, I spontaneously booked a one way ticket to Thailand with $500 to my name, knowing nobody, and having no plan. It seemed like a reasonable decision at the time.

All of a sudden I found myself making new friends on new contients while getting my scuba diving license, training muay thai in the jungle in 40 degrees celcius heat, and exploring pristine islands via boats and motorcycles.

After a few months, I went home.

Well, for two weeks - before I did it all over again, but in Europe this time. Then back to Asia, Europe again, Morocco, Europe, California, Croatia, California again, the list goes on.

Then we bought a farm in the mountains from 1850, but that’s a different story...

During this time I had the pleasure to work on feature films for Lionsgate, contribute to music in ad campaigns for companies like UNICEF and Pennzoil, have my music used in trailers like Lego Movie 2, Lady And The Tramp and Welcome To Marwen, and compose music for Grammy-winning Metropole Orkest and world class DJ Hardwell.

But all of this happened behind the scenes, in silence.

After 5 years, I’ve now ended up on the eastern coast of Australia, and I’m back to working on my own passion projects - combining my love for cinematography, live performance, multi instrumentalism, travel and composition.

I want to share the first of many videos based around completely improvised jams, made in the heat of the moment with no preparation - either alone or with friends.

This one features me playing around with live looping of cinematic elements and my electric violin. I hope you like it!

If you enjoyed the video, please subscribe to stay up to date on weekly cinematic improv videos like this.

PS: Give me a challenge! Pick any combination of the instruments in this shot, and a musical style - and I will do an improv of the most creative submissions!
