Tracking severe storm warnings in Chicago area | Full coverage

Meteorologists David Yeomans and Albert Ramon monitor severe storm and tornado threats that have increased in the latest update
- Tornado Warnings possible at any time through 6 p.m. -- though the threat may end earlier (5p)
- Rain/lightning most likely in Chicago between 2-4 p.m.
-The NOAA Storm Prediction Center has placed more of our area under a slight (2 out of 5) and even enhanced (3 out of 5) risk of severe weather Tuesday afternoon, as sunshine and humidity fire off scattered powerful thunderstorms.
-Though large hail and damaging winds are the most likely threat from storms that may impact your community, there is a higher than normal risk of a tornado today -- including a potentially "significant" tornado in northwest Indiana. 
-Stay weather-alert by watching CBS 2 News and streaming CBS News Chicago, where we will break in with updates as conditions warrant. Now is the time to think about where you would go if a Tornado Warning is issued. Seek a basement or the lowest floor of a sturdy structure, away from outside walls and windows.
-A few additional storms are possible Wednesday, generally south of I-80, then cooler weather blows in on Thursday.
