Compared with last year's model, this 2023 upgrade is a proper evolution of an already enjoyable folding mobile. The Samsung Z Flip 5 serves up a fresh new cover screen packed with great features and actual app support, while that Flex Hinge means a much reduced gap at last! The camera hardware is much the same but some behind-the-scenes processing tweaks mean improved photos in lower light.

Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset powers the Galaxy Z Flip 5, so you can expect smooth sailing even when gaming on Genshin Impact. Battery life however is once again limited by the small capacity cell, so more demanding users may be tempted by the Samsung Z Fold 5 instead.
