FULL COVERAGE PT. 4: Bridge catastrophe - Baltimore Mayor, officials hold 1st press conference

The Francis Scott Key Bridge has collapsed into the Patapsco River after a cargo ship collided with it. We heard preliminary calls early this morning around 1:30 a.m.

Chief Kevin Cartwright, director of communications for the Baltimore City Fire Department confirmed that the bridge had been struck by "a large vessel" causing it to collapse into the Patapsco River.

Governor Wes Moore released a statement on the collapse, declaring a State of Emergency in Maryland.
