Playa d'Alcúdia is a long white sand beach in the north of Mallorca located a few kilometers from Port d'Alcúdia and next to the medieval town of Alcúdia. Being one of the prestigious blue flag beaches on the island, Playa d'Alcúdia remains strong in terms of cleanliness and sustainability. Stretching almost 3.5 km long, this beautiful beach offers something for everyone. It is a popular beach with local residents and especially tourists, most of whom stay in one of the many beachfront or surrounding hotels. Playa de Alcúdia is considered one of the 20 best beaches in Mallorca. Playa d’Alcúdia is extremely suitable for families. It has good facilities with showers, bathrooms and changing rooms, a special children's play area with gym equipment and, of course, countless water sports such as kayaks, SUP and pedal boats, as well as great sand for making castles. Sun loungers and parasols can also be rented for the whole day. The waters are very clean, especially for such a large resort beach, and are generally calm, but waves do tend to kick in from the north, so it's important to check water conditions. It is not a party beach and, although some bars and restaurants open their doors at night, it remains discreet.
A good part of this beach abuts at its rear with a long wooden promenade that houses shops, restaurants, cafes and accommodation, as well as a local tourist office. In one part of the beach there is a canal that meanders beneath the hotels and restaurants, something truly unique on the island.
Towards the Port d'Alcúdia part is where there is generally more movement, since the main facilities and activities are located here, and as you descend towards Playa de Muro it is somewhat quieter. But this beach is so extensive that you rarely get the feeling of saturation, even in the summer months. That said, it's not a lonely beach!
