Charles Cotton's fishing house on the river Dove in the glorious Peak District National Park in the heart of England, is widely believed to be the "cradle" of fly fishing. Author of the Compleat Angler, Izaak Walton once fished these hallowed waters with his dear companion Charles Cotton. We are privileged to have been allowed to use Cotton's fishing house as the base for our fishing adventures in and around the Derbyshire Dales. In Part One Tony Bridgett takes a close look at the Dove's mayfly then recreates the fly by tying his version while sat at Cotton's table inside the fishing house. He then uses his new fly to catch four small but lovely wild trout.
