Some businesses were closed in Polokwane, Seshego and Mankweng in Limpopo, as some community structures embarked on a shutdown of services over a shortage of water. Commuters who travel from the two townships to town were left stranded as public transport was not fully operating. The Executive Mayor of the Polokwane Local Municipality, John Mpe, believes that although the community's concerns are genuine, the protest action is politically motivated
