Diana, Princess of Wales, celebrated her 36th birthday among more than 5-hundred guests at a charity dinner in London.

The bash was held at the Tate Gallery, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

As the door opened, Diana, Princess of Wales, surfaced in a dazzling low-cut black spangled lace dress.

The Princess seemed in bubbly mood from the moment she walked into the gallery for the reception held among the paintings and sculptures.

More than five hundred guests were there to celebrate with the Princess her 36th birthday.

Among them supermodel Iman - herself an icon for the photographers - rock singer Brian Ferry, and many other famous names.

The Princess was seen laughing with guests including Hollywood comedy actor Steve Martin and Lord and Lady Attenborough.

After the reception, the guests were to attend the 3 - hundred and fifty pounds (520 dollars) a-head gala dinner to mark the centenary of the Tate Gallery in London.

Chanel - the French couture house - was sponsoring the evening, expected to raise about 200- thousand pounds (330- thousand dollars).

The money raised will go towards the construction of a site to house the National Collection of British Art.
