HOW CINEMAS WORK - IMAX 70mm OPPENHEIMER FROM THE PROJECTION BOX, BFI IMAX

Описание к видео HOW CINEMAS WORK - IMAX 70mm OPPENHEIMER FROM THE PROJECTION BOX, BFI IMAX

A comprehensive look at the lacing up and running of the 10am screening of OPPENHEIMER in genuine 15/70 IMAX from the projection booth at the BFI IMAX with Michael Ford, the Chief Projectionist. Michael takes us through the whole process and tells us all the details along the way, including the infamous IMAX rolling loop and the requisite vacuum to ensure each frame is sucked into place on the flattener at the rear element of the lens to ensure the best definition movie presentation format ever devised has the sharpest possible resolution in the resultant projected image on the 85 foot wide screen. This is surely a video for film lovers everywhere and with less than 30 cinemas screening OPPENHEIMER in its original format, this is a chance to see how the whole magnificent process operates. In addition, the BFI IMAX has just about the best sound system known to man so for anyone wondering where to ever view any genuine IMAX films the BFI IMAX is the place to head for.

As mentioned in this video, Kim at bored_tech created this fabulous video of the 15/70 print at the Ronson Theatre in the Science Museum being assembled and if you haven't seen it, it should be compulsory viewing:    • OPPENHEIMER 70MM IMAX film print asse...

Beau at Terminator Juice went on a bit of a road trip to see OPPENHEIMER at his nearest genuine IMAX theatre and it has an interesting lobby which allows the public to see into the projection booth with the 15/70 operating. Beau's video can be seen here and you'll feel like you're on the journey to see the film with him:    • Seeing Oppenheimer in 70mm IMAX film!

Clark Teddles shot a wonderful video of the standard 70mm print being laced and projected at The Ritz in Sydney and the abridged version of this is being screened before every showing at The Ritz. Fortunately for all us film enthusiasts, Clark's video playing on screen at The Ritz, Sydney can be seen from the audience here:    • @ClarkTeddles Oppenheimer 70mm Pre Sh...
