A History of Tuberculosis | MSF |

Описание к видео A History of Tuberculosis | MSF |

Another accessible animation showing the history of TB. From its ancient name "Phtisis", first described by Hippocrates, the animation takes us through the story of TB throughout the ages. It shows advancements in medical knowledge of the Mycobacterium Tuberculosis bacteria, famous figures through history who made discoveries around the disease, and those who lost their lives to it. The story covers how TB faded into obscurity following the creation of a vaccine and antibiotics to treat it, but made a comeback in the 1980's during the HIV-Aids epidemic. Increasingly drug resistant strains of the disease mean that the resurgence of TB is a real emergency. SUBSCRIBE HERE: http://bit.ly/15M9M8v
