Baby Seal Rescued From Painful Entanglement

Entanglements like this one show the huge and brutal consequences of a teeny tiny piece of left behind fishing line. Seals are not meant to be caught by fishing lines, but it is an accepted and tolerated collateral damage of commercial and recreational fishing. This seal deserved better than having a razor sharp fishing line cut into its flesh. It should be part of any fishing license or permit to go through thorough training on how to avoid ocean littering, and what the potential consequences are for marine animals - and transgressions should have consequences - because at the moment: they have none. 🦭
