The new passenger’s terminal building has officially commenced its operations to ease and control passenger traffic ahead of the non-allied movement summit and G77+china slated for 15th January 2024.
According to the UPDF engineering brigade, the first phase of expansion of the airport has been completed at a cost of 34 billion shillings executed in the period of one year.
Minister for works and transport, minister and the chairperson national organizing committee for NAM summit inspected the terminal building as it kicks start its operations.
According to Col. Engineer Godfrey Tukamwakyira project manager the project that commenced in may 2023, has been completed for the first phase has been handed over for operationalization as they embark on the second phase.
The facility has the ground and the first floor where the ground used as the arrival’s terminal and the first as the departure’s terminal
