One of my favorite underrated comics was a relatively brief run called Strikeforce Morituri. It followed a united humanity fighting against alien invaders by creating an imperfect system of creating superheroes to fight back. Only a small percentage of the population could undergo the process and it would kill them within a year, tops. I break down issue #3 and look at a few of the tropes and why the world building and characterization really works for me.
