Since Easter Sunday, we’ve been gripped by ITV’s new thrilling drama - The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe. It’s the retelling of one Britain's most sensational scandals, when ‘Canoe Conman’ John Darwin faked his own death as part of an insurance scam with the help of his wife Anne. In tonight’s instalment, the lies begin to unravel as the now infamous photo, exposing the couple, is discovered by journalist David Leigh. David, who not only broke the story but wrote the book which inspired the drama - tells us about his involvement, and reveals his ongoing 15 year friendship with Anne.
