Amethi, Raebareli Decision Left Up To Kharge; CEC Leaders Want Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi

Congress leaders at the party's Central Election Committee meeting told party president Mallikarjun Kharge to make Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra the candidates for the high-profile Amethi and Raebareli Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, sources told India Today TV. This came amid speculation of the Gandhi siblings being fielded from the traditional bastions.

The leaders, including the Congress general secretary-in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, strongly pitched for Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the party's candidates, according to sources. The final decision will be taken by Kharge, they added.
