I promise you, the video is much more entertaining than the ELMS weekend in Monza was for me.

Trackdetails: 3.600 mtr, 7 right turns, 4 left turns. A real high speed track.

In motorsport, things don't always go the way you want them to. In endurance racing in particular, so many factors determine fast laps, qualifying and the race.

The vast majority of factors remain hidden to the spectator and fan: condition of the tyres, fuel tank capacity, fuel tank window, pit stop times, aero setups, etc., etc. Cost-relevant things like engine running times, revision intervals, test days, tyre sets etc. are not even mentioned.

Or another example: Due to our pit position behind the LMP2 of another team #21 and our second LMP2 #47 we had to choose our pit stops outside the optimal rhythm in order not to lose 15 sec each time by manoeuvring. In one case this cost the chance to pit within one FCY. Very annoying. Why is this not taken into account when allocating pit stops?

Qualifying remained very unspectacular for me without slipstream. We never came close to the theoretical top speed of other teams and had to make compromises in the aero set-up.

The bottom line is that, as in Monza, we had no luck with our race strategy. We made a risky move that could have worked, but didn't. That's the kind of thing you do when you're not racing. You do things like that when you don't see any other realistic chance.

The beauty of motorsport is that it's so much fun to drive a car at the limit at over 200 kmh. Racing against other racers. To fight. Even if the car doesn't go 100%, to squeeze out 100% anyway.

We have so much fun in the team and with Bent it's really great to race.
