The Carolina Huricanes pulled their goalie down by a goal to score the game tying goal within the final 2 minutes of regulation to send it to overtime. Artemi Panarin then scored within the first 2 minutes of overtime to seal the victory for the New York Rangers. The Rangers have now one their first 7 games of the playoffs, the first time in team history since 1994. Igor Shesterkin made 45 saves in the win in Raleigh.
