Ambient light generally refers to any uncontrolled light that already exists within a scene. This could be daylight from the sky, or a simple street light. We can add to, or take from this light, to gain full control over the mood and feeling of our image. But we can also recreate the feeling of this uncontrollable fill light from scratch, using lighting.
