Curious Case of C vs L vs O - is it a scam? 💕

After crushing a bit of C in my earlier crush I sat back for a minute and thought to myself these chalks are sooooo similar - is this all a scam? Are they the same chalks from the same factory but being marketed to me as different textures?

Then I pinched myself to reality and reminded myself that over the last years I can call myself somewhat an expert in gymchalk Asmr. I mean we all are. We crush and/or watch this material day in and day out. If anyone has anything to say about chalk, it’s us, surely.

So I put on my Chalk PHD hat, lowered my light brigtness (because my light has been too bright or maybe not?) - anyway - then I laid out 5 blocks each of C, L and O.

Here are my findings;

It is subtle but the textures are visibly different.
They also feel different.
C is lovely but it’s a bit less easy to crush and the way it crumbles is slightly less satisfactory than L.

L crumbles pretty well but again not as good as O. To be frank L can be a bit of a hit or miss. I’m carefully about selecting the blocks because the internal integrity of the texture is less consistent. Meaning one L block can be great but the next L block could be super hard.

O has the best internal integrity. Even the firmer blocks within the O range still crumble pretty nicely. Here I displayed the firmer blocks precisely because I wanted to see how they faired against C and L which are generally firmer compared to O. Result is that O still reigned supreme.

When people say - ‘it’s the way the cookie crumbles’ is actually pretty accurate because for me, I don’t care what chalk it is or what texture it is. The max satisfaction for me is watching how the the cookie crumbles; with ease, panache, grace and a seamless pace. That is the beauty of asmr for me.

All this to say - no it’s not a scam - these textures differ. BUT, the subtleties are reserved for the trained eye. We can ‘proudly’ say we are the collect few in the entire world with this level of expertise on gym chalk - like…what? why? 🤦‍♀️😅😂😂💕💕💕
