The Great Britain XII - 6233 Duchess Of Sutherland & Double Headers (Days 1-4)

Описание к видео The Great Britain XII - 6233 Duchess Of Sutherland & Double Headers (Days 1-4)

Duchess Of Sutherland was the star locomotive for the first three days of the Great Britain steam tour, which heads across England, Wales and Scotland over nine days. For this mammoth video we were on the road for four days, with full coverage of 6233 over the first three days, where we capture the Duchess from 13 locations featuring 19 different camera angles. A new personal record for ourselves !

While 6233 was the main star of our trip, there was two other doubleheaders which would haul the Great Britain and both making for rare combinations. The first unique combo was GWR Manor 7828 and S&D 7F which would haul the end of day two across the West Somerset Railway to Minehead. With the Duchess captured all the way from Bristol to West Cheshire on day three, day four would bring the mouth watering prospect of 60009 'Union Of South Africa' & Black Five '44871' over Shap Bank at the start of day four.

The plan was to follow the rest of day four into the southern part of Scotland but not too far away there was another huge locomotive making her full return and that was no other than 6201 'Princess Elizabeth' on the Dalesman and there was plenty of drama on her eventful return, unfortunately you'll have to wait till Friday to see her roaring back into action over the S&C !

In regards to the first four days of the Great Britain they were a roaring success with the majority of planned shots coming to fruition and with all the chosen locomotives performing superbly, especially the 'Duchess' when in the face of adversity up Hemerdon Bank although that dramatic climb does not feature here.

A big thanks to all who were involved in the operation of this tour and to the paying passengers, who were responsible for the making of this video. Now for a good long rest, I hope you enjoy the video.
