Описание к видео Super Robot Showcase: Casshern from "Casshern" (Movie) / スパロボショーケース:「CASSHERN」(映画)のキャシャーン

What if Casshern from "Casshern" (Movie) was in Super Robot Wars? An ability showcase.

Casshern is a live action movie based on the 1973 superhero anime, Neo-Human Casshern. Compared to other versions of the story, the movie features a much less heroic narrative revolving around a much more morally dubious conflict and setting. Additionally, the theme of robotics is downplayed. While Braiking Boss employs robots as his soldiers, he and his main subordinates are instead introduced as mutants. Similarly, this version of Casshern does not become a cyborg to fight back, but is mutated and placed in a power suit to stabilize his body.

Set in a world where the imperialistic Eastern Federation arose from Asia and overthrew the European Union, the movie follows the troubled Azuma family. Dr. Kotaro Azuma researches cells with superhuman healing abilities taken from a foreign tribe in order to provide a cure for his wife's progressive disease. When his son Tetsuya dies in the line of duty as a soldier of the Eastern Federation, Dr. Azuma revives him from the dead using the neo-cells. However, a lightning bolt-like structure appears in the pool of neo-cells, reviving the mutants under the leadership of Braiking Boss, who declares war against the humans who have oppressed them.

The film is notable for being one of the first movies to be filmed using the digital backlot technique, which uses few or no practical sets in favour of inserting artificial environments, often too elaborate to be constructed, such as by the use of computer graphics.

For clarity, the subtitles here are not mine.
