Who were the first Australians ashore? Official accounts say that 1500 infantrymen from the AIF 3rd Brigade made up the first wave. But this Sunday, 60 Minutes will reveal that the first men to set foot on Gallipoli were 150 Australian army engineers, sappers as they’re called, who until now have never been recognised.
